She has experience in front and back office, as well as medical billing and coding, and was a Certified Professional Coder. She furthered her career and obtained a degree in Radiologic Technology. She was a spine/pain RT for many years (including here at DSSP), as well as a Clinical Instructor for PMI, before pursuing her career as a Physician Assistant. She has been a PA since 2017, focusing in pain management, and joined DSSP, again, in Oct 2022. Dr. Susan Reckell is the Founder and President of Riviera Opticare, Inc. She attended University of Michigan for undergraduate studies and Michigan College of Optometry for her Doctorate degree. Her favorite area of Optometry and expertise is in specialty bifocal contact lenses, Keratoconus treatment contact lenses, and Scleral lenses for corneal transplants or cornea disorders. She is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Arizona Optometric Association (AZOA). Dr. Reckell and her husband, Tim, have raised 3 terrific kids and now enjoy being grandparents! Her favorite activities are Church-related, Yoga, Hockey and hiking Arizona. Dr. Reckell sees patients at both Mesa and Scottsdale offices.
